Best Wishes for a Blessed New Year
A Bright Start to a New Year
We awoke, on this first day of the new year, to this glorious scene. If I could add sounds you’d hear birdsong, the wind in the trees, and rustling in the woods. (I romanticize the rustling–it’s probably the many rodents around.) It’s easy to feel optimistic when the sun is shining and a new year is dawning.
We know every day won’t be sunny. Life invariably brings clouds, storms, dark days and hazy days, when the way forward is unclear. Those are the days we are keenly aware we walk by faith. In these days of sunshine I want to soak up the little blessings, our family visiting, my parents having a good day, the helpers who come to help Mom and Dad, a lazy day in PJ’s and blueberry pancakes for breakfast.
Let’s encourage each other in the lovely days like today, as well as the days not as lovely as we continue the hard job of caregiving. Have the happiest of New Years.
All the blessings we enjoy are Divine deposits, committed to our trust on this condition, that they should be dispensed for the benefit of our neighbors. John Calvin.
Have a great caregiving day,
